Beautiful Day- Coach Haul Part Deux

This entry was originally written on 02.02.12  and posted on 02.07.12, however, the actual date that it took place was 01.31.12.  Please enjoy.

Hello everyone,

The  weather today was beautiful- I got to wear shorts!  Shorts in January is nuts, but I knew it might be the last time for several months, so I had to take advantage of the weather and exploit some of my Spring wardrobe.  Today I also carried my monogram Speedy 40- again, with Indiana weather, you never know if it will rain or snow at any given time- so when the precipitation is at 0% for the day, you have to take advantage of it!

Let's see- after class my partner and I went to the better side of town to do some shopping.  We went to Target (I LOVE Target!)  and bought some coffee, gum and creamer.  Afterwards we went across the street to Von Maur and did some browsing- I almost bought a pair of Puma's, but they were a little ugly (only $29 though).  I finally got the battery in my watch changed!  I can wear it again after many months of it sitting in the safe.  Then it happened- I ate at Chipotle for the first time!!!  It was AMAZING!  They are a really great company too, very earth conscious. Click here to learn more about Chipotle- we need more restaurants like this to choose from!

Overall it was just a beautiful day, and we had a lot of fun spending time together!

-------------------------------------------------------
Now- I know that all of you are excited to see what I got in the Coach Factory Online Sale-  well here is the reveal:

Here is my $29 cosmetic case- I'm a boy, so I obviously don't wear makeup (unless it's Halloween and I'm dressed as Cher--loooong story lol)  So I will use this for my triangles and drafting supplies.

 Features 3 pockets!  It's great!

Clearly it doesn't fit an architectural scale, or circle templates, but it does the job.  My boyfriend bought the same one in black.

Now onto the BIG reveal, my Neal loafers, only $79!  They look tacky in photos- but in real life they are beautiful shoes.  I was joking with my partner that I should wear them with my Mono Speedy, a Burberry polo, and Versace sunglasses so I looked like a Label Whore!  HA!

Okay gang, sorry for the long post today!  I hope you all enjoyed my new goods, and be looking for the final Coach reveal!

Until next time-

Stand Out in a Crowd

Hello everyone,

It's been about week since my last post- I have been busy with work/school/family & friends etc... but I'm back today!

Today's topic: setting yourself apart from the crowd.  What are we talking about?  The Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy.  Chances are you have one- and so do millions of other people.  And unless you're fine with walking around with the same bag as everyone else, how do you set your bag apart from the rest?
My Speedy 40

Some choose to purchase the little charms from LV to hang on their bag (I'd rather spend the money on another bag!)  I, however, use a luggage tag with heat stamped initials.  I feel this not only personalizes the bag to ME, but it's also a fun and masculine way to show off personal style.  The tags only cost about $45-$75 depending on size, and if you ask me that's a lot better than $400 on a charm.  And since LV is all about travel and luggage- what better way to show that than with a luggage tag?

If you prefer a fun and frilly look (which is not my taste- but I'm a guy after all) then a colorful scarf might be what you need.  I have found that when selecting a scarf, choose an oblong one- this will make it easier to tie.  When tying the scarf keep in mind the process of tying a bow tie- it's exactly the same!

Dramatic scarves add fun color to any bag

Scarves like this can be purchased for less than $1 at your local thrift store

Here is one more example: I think that this would be a fun and preppy way to add a custom touch to the bag- loosely tying a bow tie around the handle and just letting it drape.  I have plenty of bow ties and could easily match the tie on my bag to my outfit.

Of course when tying it on- make sure the care tag is covered up.  Oops!

I stood in line for almost 30 minutes on black friday to buy this tie!

With all silliness aside- do what suits you.  And don't worry about getting LV accessories to hang on your LV bag- you could easily use a Coach charm if you wanted (just make sure the hardware matches).   Or if you are feeling REALLY radical- check out this website.  I haven't used them personally (I can't afford them)  but their work is amazing!   I hope that this blog gave you ideas on how you can personalize YOUR mono speedy, and feel free to send me photos of your bags- I'd love to see them!

Until next time-

Prada Wallet Review

Hello everyone,

I have some downtime until I have to be at work this evening, so I thought - Hey!  Why not write a blog?! So that's what I'm going to do!

I didn't get much sleep last night.  That AutoCad project took much longer than expected, but lets hope it gets a good grade!  I also thought I had a paper to type that was due tonight, but I just found out that it isn't due until Thursday.  And with my master procrastination skills, it probably won't get done until Wednesday night.

The past few days I've been carrying my Louis Vuitton Epi Speedy 40 in Borneo Green.  Green being my favorite color- and the Speedy 40 being my favorite bag, it's safe to say that I love this bag.  The previous owner took very good care of it, and it's almost pristine (aside from a couple minor scratches on the backside).  The date code reads V.I. 0912 -made in France January '92, so some wear is to be expected.  And with it being all leather- it weighs a TON, I don't recommend using Epi leather bags for big shopping trips.

I've also been using my fancy new Prada wallet that I purchased from Saks Fifth Avenue in Chicago last month.  That was such a fun experience!  I hadn't planned on buying anything, and since my Louis Vuitton wallet is so small- this Prada has become the perfect substitute.

Here is some information from the Prada website:

WALLET

  • SAFFIANO CALF LEATHER WALLET
  • GOLD-PLATED HARDWARE
  • METAL LETTERING LOGO
  • TWO SNAP CLOSURE
  • TEN CREDIT CARD SLOTS, ONE COIN COMPARTMENT WITH ZIPPER
  • L 7.36" H 3.54"

There are plenty of card slots- two zippered compartments, six slots for cash and receipts.  And the Saffiano leather is amazing, as is the gold plated hardware.  My favorite feature is the lining- it's a Moire Faille.  (looks like wood grain) The Saffiano leather is a lot like Louis Vuitton Taiga leather.  Honestly the quality of this wallet is second to none- it makes my Louis Vuitton Zippy wallet look chintzy.   I am very serious when I say, this was some of the best money I have ever spent.  Mine is a sort of deep Burgundy/Bordeaux color- which I don't see on their website anymore.  I think this Prada will be the first of many----  :)

Here is a photo of my Prada wallet, and an interior shot of the wallet from their website:

I suppose with all the previous talk about my Epi Speedy 40- you'll probably want to see photos, so I won't hold out on you guys:

Aside from a "new" phone and the Prada wallet- I'm still carrying all the same things that I had in my Keepall 45, so I won't bore you with another list.

Well I only have a couple more hours before I have to be at work...

Until next time-
